Northview High School in Johns Creek : rank #1 in state of Georgia

Not unlike its city’s other high schools, Northview High School is a School of Excellence and, since 2007, has held the State of Georgia’s second place for overall SAT Scores. (first place in Math), claiming the largest numerical improvement in test scores in 2004, 2005, 2006. Northview High School also holds the number one spot in Georgia for its highest ACT scores. Not surprisingly last year Atlanta Magazine named Northview High School ” The #1 high school in Atlanta.” and News week placed Northview 99th in its top 1000 high schools in the United States. The Advanced Placement program at Northview excels with 63% of the seniors completing at least on AP course and 83.1% scoring a 3 or high on exams. As expected, NHS students are well prepared for the future, with 92% moving on to four-year colleges.

The school also features an extremely diverse student body, with Korean, Chinese, East Asian, Indian, and African American Populations, and celebrates this diversity through a variety of intricately planned activities. For example, the Kaleidoscope Club, and organization focused on promoting the strength of diversity, hosts an International Night each fall featuring food, dance, and music from many of the 49 countries represented within its student body. Over 1400 students and parents attended the 2012 celebration.

Surprisingly, within just the last 4 years, Johns Creek has experienced an explosion in its Asian population. Just 4 years ago in 2007, 13% of Johns Creek’s population were made of up Asians. Today that number has jumped to 23% of its population.

I am calling bottom and a housing recovery going into 2012 in S. Forysth, JC, Alpharetta, and Suwanee. Rental market is tight, however we are now seeing inventory levels hovering at 6 months supply whereas it almost a 1 year supply last year. Both Laurel Springs and St Marlo’s inventory is down to almost 6 months supply which is a very good sign as buyers are not starting to balance out the suppy.

These are good numbers and seeing other threads regarding unemployment decreasing and Georiga facing the 4th fastest population growth next to California, Texas, and Florida, I remain extremely optimistic for the housing market in the northside of Atlanta.

Johns Creek is a new city incorporated six years ago, so i wanted to bring more awareness of why i think Johns Creek is the most desirable city to live in the northside of Atlanta.

After Milton city, Johns Creek city has highest median household income in Georgia State. The median household income is $106,950 and the average household income is $132,831. This puts Johns Creek in the top 9 wealthiest city in the nation with Sandy Springs with a population greater than 70,000. 16% of the Johns Creek residents make a household income of greater than $200,000.

Johns Creek city has state’s Top 1 public School ‘Northview’ and other 2 schools Johns Creek, Chattahoochee are in top 10 lists.

There is no other city/suburb in Georgia State which is sending 26% of their total students to top Georgia colleges GA Tech and UGA. Johns creek city (3 high schools: Northview, Chattahoochee and John’s Creek high combined) is sending 26% of their total students to top GA colleges GA. Tech and UGA.
